Fundraiser for the Santa Santa Fe Farmers Market

 

Live music: Brian Wingard and The Haiku Cowboys.
Oh and we will have dancing, lots of dancing!

Where: Farmers Market Pavilion (1607 Paseo de Peralta)

When: February 16th, 2013 6:30pm

Price: $25 for adults and $10 for kids under ten.

Joe’s is preparing

Mint and Honey Slaw

Recepi:

5 Tbs regular olive oil

2 Tbs Honey

1/2 cup fresh Mint

1 Lime, Juice and Zest

2 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar

1 teesp grated Horseraddish

put all in blender, blend well and set aside.

note: there is no pepper or salt in the dressing.  horseraddish, sprouts, mint and lime will give this dressing LIVE and a refreshing mouth-feel, Apple cider vinegar and Honey make up for the perfect balance.

 

 

Vegetables:

whatever you can find that can be shredded or can be cut into thin slices or dices.

the more colors and textures the better.

dress lightly just before serving

Here is what I did for today:

Raddishes from Green Tractor Farm shredded coarsley

Carrots from Camino de Paz shredded fineley

Apples from Eve’s Ranch cut in Juliennes

Radish Sprouts and Pea Sprouts from SunGreen cut into 2″ pieces

Cabbage irregular sliced and chopped

other option:

Beets ( cook first) if using red beets add only in the end or all will be colored

Jicama

Kohlrabi ( cook first)

Pumkins (partially cooked and hand sliced)

Bokchoi

and on and on …..
